Why am I so passionate about this? Because it’s the realisation of a 20-year dream—to have a technology that lets us care for loved ones from afar. The idea’s been with me for decades, just waiting for the right tech—advanced sensors, fast internet—and the right team to bring it to life. Now, we finally have all the pieces: the technology, the talent, and perfect timing.

For me, this would have changed everything. Living far from my aging parents, I often worried. They’d reassure me everything was fine, even when it wasn’t. If this technology had existed back then, I believe they could have stayed independent longer—and I would have had the peace of mind I desperately needed. It’s like having a digital, always-there neighbour—quietly looking out for the people you love.

I am so passionate about habita because I am convinced it will save lives. The technology embedded in habita can detect early arising health problems that would normally go unnoticed. For example, it could detect change in speech, sleep, and movement patterns. I’m convinced my recent relative that passed away in their early 60’s would still be with us if habita were in their house. Symptoms included dragging feet and slurring speech which others didn’t detect until it was too late. habita could have detected these symptoms and suggested getting to a doctor soonest.
