What exactly is habita®?

habita® is an in-home wellness monitoring system designed to support the wellbeing of the elderly. At its core is the HabitaHub, a discreet, self-contained USB-C powered unit placed in the main living area of the beneficiary’s home. Paired with this is a mobile app installed on the caregiver’s phone, which delivers two types of notifications:

1. Routine & Environment Alerts – notifying caregivers of unusual changes in daily activity or surroundings.
2. Emergency Alerts – immediately flagging critical situations such as falls or fires.

Together, habita® provides peace of mind for caregivers and enhances safety and independence for elderly individuals.

How does habita® work?

habita® uses smart AI to learn an elderly person’s normal daily routine. With data from the habita® sensor unit, it spots subtle changes of concern or accidents and sends helpful alerts straight to the caregiver’s app.

What situations does habita® currently monitor?

Right now, habita® monitors three key things: daily activity, lights being switched on or off, and potential fire risks. As we continue to develop and test, you’ll receive free upgrades to future versions with even more features.

How does habita® protect my loved one’s privacy?

habita® is built with privacy and security at its core. There are no cameras monitoring rooms, and future camera features will only process movements into anonymized stick figures. All data is protected by built-in firewalls, and microphone use is limited to two-way communication and wellbeing monitoring. Habita never sells personal data, information is used only to safeguard the health and safety of loved ones.

Is habita® difficult to setup?

No, you simply plug it into a standard USB-C power source and that’s it.

What about a power cut?

habita® contains a high-capacity rechargeable battery that is automatically recharged when plugged into a USB power source. In the event of a power cut habita® will carry on collecting data and communicating via Wi-Fi of mobile phone network.

If both Wi-Fi and phone network is not available, habita® will store over 5 hours of data and then upload automatically when a data connection is made again.

What is your commitment to support the product long-term?

What if the crowdfund doesn’t reach its goal?

What are the risks of backing a crowdfund?

Backing a crowdfund is different from buying a finished product. You’re supporting the development of an idea, which means there are some risks, such as:

  • Delays – Products may take longer to develop or ship than expected.
  • Changes – Features or designs may be adjusted during development.
  • Uncertainty – In rare cases, a project may not be completed as planned.

That said, crowdfunding is also a way to be part of the journey, backers get early access, exclusive perks, and the chance to help shape something new.

When will I receive my habita®?

We aim to deliver your habitaHub within 6 months of your reservation, however we will keep you updated via email.

How do you handle shipping?
We will hand deliver and setup your habita® as part of our commitment to offer exceptional support to the first 100 backers. For the first stage of our trial, we’re focusing close to home. We’d love our first 100 trialists to be within one hour of our headquarters at Harwell Science Campus, South Oxfordshire, UK so we can give you hands-on support.

How often will I be updated?

You will receive fortnightly email updates from us.

What does being a trialist involve?

As a trialist for Habita, you’ll get early access to the platform and a chance to explore its features before anyone else. Your role is to try out Habita in real-world situations and share your feedback with us. This helps us understand what works, what could be improved, and what you’d love to see next. Trialists play a key part in shaping the future of Habita, and we’re excited to have your insights guide our development!
